Schedule unit-mismatch checker

Schedules exported from Revit, AutoCAD or a consultant's spreadsheet often mix units in one column, repeat a mark, or leave cells blank. Paste the export here to find those rows before the schedule goes out.

Free. No account. Nothing you paste leaves your browser, and no AI runs on our side. We count tool clicks anonymously, never what you paste. See the paid API for agents →

Paste a CSV or tab-separated schedule with a header row (copy straight from Excel works). Upload .csv or .xlsx. The ID column is detected from headers like Mark, Type Mark, Tag, ID or Number.

How to use it

  1. Export the schedule to CSV or copy it from Excel, including the header row.
  2. Paste it in the box or upload the file, then press Check.
  3. Fix errors first: mixed imperial and metric, duplicate or missing marks.
  4. Review warnings: unitless numbers, text in numeric columns, blank cells.
  5. Export the issue list as CSV and send it with the model or schedule.

Go further with AI

Copy a prompt into ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot along with your exported results. Check your company’s AI policy first, and have a person review the output.

Prompt 1

This schedule export has unit problems: [paste issue list CSV]. For each flagged row, suggest the corrected value in [feet-inches / millimeters], show the conversion, and mark any value that looks like a typo rather than a unit mix-up. Do not change values that were not flagged.

Prompt 2

Here is a door schedule: [paste schedule]. Check it against these rules: [e.g. every door has a fire rating where the wall is rated; widths at least 3'-0" on accessible routes]. List violations by mark. Say clearly which rules you could not check from the export.

Prompt 3

Write a short Dynamo or pyRevit script outline that sets the unit display of [parameter] to [unit] for all [category] types and lists elements where [parameter] is empty. Explain each step so a BIM coordinator can review it before running it on a detached copy.

FAQ

How is this different from the paid API?

This page is a lighter, browser-only version for one schedule at a time. The model export checker API also reads IFC files, returns JSON and is built for agents and scripts that run checks automatically, at $0.36 per call.

Is my schedule uploaded?

No. It is checked in your browser and nothing you paste leaves it. We only count tool clicks anonymously.

What counts as mixed units?

A column with both imperial (ft, in, feet-inches) and metric (mm, cm, m) values is an error. Inches mixed with feet-inches is allowed. Plain numbers next to values with units are flagged as unitless.

Does it check code compliance?

No. It checks the schedule itself: units, duplicates, blanks and field counts. Use the second prompt above for a draft rule check, and have a qualified person review it.

Does it cost anything?

No. It is free with no account and no per-use cost.
